Byung Ho Kang is one of the founding members of the MinKwon Center in 1984. Later, while managing his business, he continued to support MinKwon’s work through his leadership and financial support. Also, in 1985, he co-created Binari, MinKwon’s Korean drumming troupe.

Jennifer Kim started her involvement at the MinKwon Center as a high school volunteer. Jennifer is currently the Program Director of the Refugee Assistance Program at the City Bar Justice Center, helping immigrants that are seeking asylum or facing deportation proceedings. She also serves as founding member of the Korean Americans for Political Advancement (KAPA), a group of 2nd generation Korean Americans working to advocate for progressive causes.

Yu Soung Mun has been a long-time community activist since 1987, and formerly served as the Executive Director at the MinKwon Center for ten years. Prior to his involvement at the MinKwon Center, Yu Soung started his activism in a sister organization called the Korean Resource Center in Los Angeles, and then served both as the Executive Director at the Korean American Community Center in Philadelphia and as the National Organizing Director of Young Koreans United of USA. Yu Soung has played an integral part in the MinKwon Center’s growth.

Yangsun Park first became active with the MinKwon Center’s then-sister organization, Korean American Community Center in Philadelphia. When she moved to New York, she became a member of Young Koreans United of NY and the MinKwon Center’s Social Services Director. She now works as Baby Phat Layette Designer at Parigi Group.

Lina Lee started her involvement at the MinKwon Center as a Housing Staff Attorney in 2013 and later served as part of the MinKwon Gala Committee. After MinKwon, she served as the Deputy Director at Brooklyn Legal Services Corp., where she represented numerous tenants in housing, state, and federal court. Lina is currently the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Communities Resist, a community-based legal services organization representing low-income tenant associations facing eviction, harassment, and housing discrimination in the most vulnerable communities of color throughout Brooklyn and Queens. She is a community activist and works closely with tenants, community partners, and organizers in the struggle against discriminatory rezonings.

As the first Executive Director at the National Korean American Services & Education Consortium, founded in 1994 by the MinKwon Center and its sister organizations, Sungok Lee paved the way for the members of the Korean American community to become active in advocacy work. Also as a member of Young Koreans United of USA, she managed international activism including fighting for peace on the Korean peninsula. She currently serves as Director of Community Organizing in the Women’s Division on General Board of Global Ministries at United Methodist Church.

Sussan Lee is a first generation Korean American immigrant and is proud to have started her legal career at the MinKwon Center as an immigration staff attorney. Since then, Sussan provided immigration consequences advice and handled post-conviction relief cases at public defender offices serving the Queens, Manhattan, and Bronx communities. Currently, she is the Senior Federal Policy Advisor at the New York City Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs. She also serves as the co-chair of the board of United We Dream, the largest immigrant youth-led advocacy organization in the country.

Yong Chun Rim has been with the MinKwon Center since the organization’s inception. He served as Chairman of the board at the MinKwon Center’s sister organization Young Koreans United’s Philadelphia office, and later served as Board Chair of Korean American Community Center in New York. He is currently president of Design Construction.

Mee Eun Chang began her relationship with the MinKwon Center by volunteering as a college student for the MinKwon Center. She also became Manager at the MinKwon Center’s ally organization, Young Koreans United of NY. She continues to be active in the immigrant rights campaigns. She is currently a voice coach at Congregation of Beth Elomim Senior Center.
