AAPI Heritage Month honorees (Queens Chronicle)

Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D-Fresh Meadows) on May 31 announced honorees as part of her annual Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration.

For their contributions to her district, the lawmaker, second from right, honored Motor Parkway East Co-founder Joby Jacob, left; MinKwon Center for Community Action Executive Director John Park, who was represented at the announcement by Yoon Ji Kim, second from left; Karen Lin, co-chairwoman of the School Leadership Team at Townsend Harris High School, center; and PS 376 Principal Clara Kang, right.

“Queens is enriched by those who have dedicated themselves to the tireless work of advocacy and engagement and I am proud to recognize this year’s honorees for their leadership in our community,” Rozic said in a prepared statement. “Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month serves not only as a reminder of the strength in our diversity, but the collective commitment to empowering others as we work towards leaving our community greater than we found it.”
