Legal Volunteer Opportunities

The MinKwon Center regularly hosts immigration clinics: Naturalization Clinics and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Renewal Clinics.  These clinics are great opportunities to assist low-income community members with immigration law forms.  We are in need of assistance of attorneys, students, and interpreters.  Korean and/or Chinese language ability is especially helpful.  No prior experience is necessary, and training will be provided on the day of each clinic.  We keep a log of all volunteer hours, and we are glad to certify your pro bono hours for the NYS bar admission requirement.

Clinics are held usually on Fridays or Saturdays and may be held at different locations.  Please read the following clinic descriptions and check the location before signing up to volunteer.

  • Naturalization Clinic
We help eligible lawful permanent residents (i.e. green card holders) complete their applications to become naturalized U.S. citizens.
  • DACA Renewal Clinic
We help eligible DACA granted individuals complete their applications to renew their DACA and employment authorization document (EAD).  DACA is a form of prosecutorial discretion that defers removal action against an individual for 2 years.

Please sign up in the below google forms for Naturalization and/or DACA Renewal Clinic(s).
